Lifespan and warranty
- This Old House lists epoxy at a 5–15 year lifespan and polyurea at 15–25 years (source). Polyaspartic is a type of polyurea.
- Warranties are set by each installer, not by a standard. Some polyaspartic installers advertise 15–20 year warranties, so read what is covered (peeling, staining, hot-tire pickup) and whether it transfers when you sell.
Which one should you choose?
If budget comes first, epoxy is usually the lower price per square foot. If you want the longest expected life, ask installers to quote both systems for the same garage and compare the warranty terms side by side.
